Quick answer

Amco is a mobile locksmith for North Beach, Perth. We open lockouts, rekey and repair locks, and make car keys at the car. About three in ten North Beach homes are townhouses, villas or semis, and close to three in ten are rented (ABS 2021). Locks near the coast also wear differently, so a stiff lock is worth a look before it fails.

From holiday shacks to a coastal suburb

The name North Beach was first used in 1888 and formally approved in 1954. Through the 1940s and 1950s the area was a holiday spot for Perth families, with coastal shacks and holiday houses, and the City of Stirling notes that some of them are still standing. It became a residential suburb in the late 1950s and early 1960s, and the townsite was gazetted in 1964.

The 2021 Census counted 1,694 homes. Six in ten are separate houses, about three in ten are townhouses, villas or semis, and the rest are mostly units. On a townhouse, the front door, courtyard gate and garage door often came on separate keys. Where the locks allow it, we key them alike.

Salt air is hard on outdoor hardware. A lock that has gone gritty or stiff can often be freed with a clean and a service. If it can’t, we replace it with something that suits the spot.
