Quick answer

Mirrabooka, Western Australia 6061 is in our service area; call and we’ll be straight about timing. Households here average three people and two cars, and about 85 per cent of homes are detached houses built in the 1980s and early 1990s. That hardware is now thirty to forty years old, so repairs and rekeys are the bulk of the work.

Mirrabooka

Named in 1980, built in the decade after

The land was set aside in 1954 for a satellite city that was never built, stayed bushland for a quarter of a century, and took the name Mirrabooka in 1980. Nearly all the housing went up in the 1980s and early 1990s, mostly north of Yirrigan Drive, and there has been very little infill since. One build era, thirty to forty years on.

So the everyday call here is a late-1980s or early-1990s Lockwood or Gainsborough entrance set that has finally had enough: tumblers worn round, a deadlatch that will not catch because the door has dropped, a key that needs lifting and jiggling. A lot of these are repairable, and we would rather service a lock than sell you a new one if the door will hold it.

The other thing that shapes jobs here is household size. Three people per home and two cars in the driveway means a rekey is not two keys — it is six to ten, and the cost of the extras is a real part of the quote, so we put it on the table up front rather than at the end. Mirrabooka Square on Yirrigan Drive and the bus interchange next to it make this a regional centre as well, which brings retail and shopfront work.

Amco Locksmiths covers Mirrabooka, Western Australia 6061. One licensed locksmith, mobile, no call centre and no shopfront to drive to. Call 08 9444 2089, or send a photo of the lock and we will tell you what it needs before we come out.

Most asked for

What we get called to in Mirrabooka

A rekey with eight keys

Big households need keys for everyone. We cut them on the spot and include them in the price.

A deadlatch that will not catch

Usually the door has dropped, not the lock failed. Often an adjustment rather than a new lock.

A spare key for the second car

Two cars per driveway. A spare costs far less than a full replacement later.

Our promise

No surprises on the day

  • Price agreed first. You know the cost before any work starts, including after hours.
  • Repair before replace. We only swap a lock when it is genuinely worn out.
  • Drilling never costs you extra. If a barrel has to be drilled we say so before we start, then fit a new one keyed to your existing key at no charge.

Two are included, and we can cut extras on the day. In Mirrabooka we usually end up cutting six to ten, so tell us how many you need when you call and we will include them in the price.

Often to repair, and on 1980s and 90s hardware it frequently is. We only recommend replacing when the lock is worn or failing enough that a new one is cheaper than coming back.

No — it is served by the Mirrabooka bus station, which is a major interchange. Everything here is bus or car.

Always. We agree the price with you on the phone, including any extra keys, and there is nothing added when we arrive.

Yes. We come to the car and cut and program it in the driveway for Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Subaru, Suzuki, Hyundai, Kia, Ford and Holden among others.
