A suburb built from scratch after 1991
East Perth is Western Australia’s largest inner-city renewal project. From 1991 the East Perth Redevelopment Authority rebuilt former gasworks, a power station, scrap yards, brick works and railway land into medium-density apartments and townhouses around Claisebrook Cove, with newer high-rise along Adelaide Terrace since. Almost nothing from before the 1940s survives.
That single fact shapes every job here. There are no century-old jarrah doors and no original mortice locks to preserve, because the stock is 1990s to 2020s: aluminium framing, euro cylinders, commercial-grade entry doors and building systems. What there is instead is volume — with roughly six homes in ten rented in a suburb of 7,500 dwellings, tenancies change constantly, and each change is a rekey.

A building’s intercom, fob system or networked access control is not something we touch — that goes through your strata company, and we will tell you so rather than waste your time. Can you get into a secure apartment building?
We can open your own apartment door, but we need you or another resident to get us into the building first, and we need photo ID plus something showing you live there.
Do you work on intercoms or building entry systems?
No. We do the door into your apartment, the letterbox and the balcony slider. Anything on the building’s entry system is a strata matter, and we will say so rather than take the job.
Can a tenant change the lock on their apartment?
Not without the owner or property manager approving it. Call us anyway — we can speak to the agent directly if that is simpler.
Is Optus Stadium in East Perth?
