Ellenbrook

A master-planned suburb, thirty years old at most

Ellenbrook was gazetted in 1992 and built from 1995 as a joint venture between Sanwa and Homeswest, in a series of themed villages: Woodlake in 1995, The Bridges in 1997, Coolamon in 1999, and more since. Nothing here predates 1995, so there are no character homes and no very old cylinders.

So the useful work here is different: a rekey after you buy, a digital or keypad lock on a modern door, or keying a new lock or screen door to the key you already carry. We fit six brands of digital lock: McGrath, Lion Head, Lockton, Carbine, Lockwood and Yale.

The houses are big, more than half with four or more bedrooms, but on compact lots. A rekey here usually covers the front door, a rear door, the internal garage door, an alfresco slider and a side gate. Sliding patio door locks are worth checking while we’re there.

Since December we’ve been called out to Ellenbrook at least twice.

Amco Locksmiths covers Ellenbrook, Western Australia 6069. One licensed locksmith, mobile, no call centre and no shopfront to drive to. Call 08 9444 2089, or send a photo of the lock through the quote form.

Common questions

Straight answers

Yes. Call and we will tell you straight when we can be there.

Modern doors here take almost anything, so it comes down to how you want to open it (code, fingerprint, tag or phone) and whether you want app access, which needs WiFi and sometimes a gateway hub. We fit McGrath, Lion Head, Lockton, Carbine, Lockwood and Yale, and we’ll talk you through it before you buy.

Usually yes. If you are adding a screen door or a second deadbolt we can key it to your existing key so you still carry one.

Yes. Book us for the day you move in. We rekey the locks you already have, so every key the builder or the last owners handed out stops working, and you get the new keys before we leave.

Most digital locks warn you when the batteries are low, and many have a backup key or a way to power them from outside. Ask us which backup the lock you choose has.
