Big blocks, more locks to count

Forrestfield grew rapidly from the 1950s to the 1970s and has been broadly stable since the early 1990s. The City of Kalamunda classifies the housing stock as predominantly pre-1980s on lots generally between 700 and 1,000 square metres, and has put the whole suburb in its dual density areas — which is council’s own wording, not marketing. The one clearly modern pocket is The Hales estate off Hale Road, on smaller lots.

On houses of that age you may find original entry sets, tired night latches and old screen doors, where the cylinder is often the cheapest part to fix. On a big block, a shed, workshop, side gate or detached garage adds to the six to eight locks in a typical house, and if they were added on different keys they can usually be put onto one.

North of Roe Highway are the marshalling yard and the warehouse and logistics estates around it. For businesses there, we do roller door locks, gate padlocks, site office doors, and rekeying when a tenancy or a staff member changes. Same honest limits as anywhere else — no alarms, CCTV, access control or safes.

Straight answers

We never promise an arrival time: call and we’ll tell you straight when we can make it.

It depends on the count. We walk the property, count the cylinders and agree the price before we start.

Usually yes for the shed and gates. For a granny flat most people want it keyed separately, with the shared gate cut to both — we will talk it through.

No, and there never has been. The line was built as the Forrestfield–Airport Link but the station is High Wycombe. Forrestfield is bus-fed.

Yes — roller doors, personnel doors, gates and tenancy rekeys. Not alarms, CCTV, access control or safes.
