A suburb that only got its name in 1991
Ascot is newer as a name than almost anywhere we work. It was only established as a suburb on 7 March 1991, even though the land and the racecourse are far older. That history is why the housing is mixed: older original stock alongside modern riverfront development, with Ron Courtney Island and Kuljak Island on the river side.
For locks, that produces two conversations. The older housing has hardware of its era — worn cylinders, screen doors that have done their time, and a rekey that is the standard six to eight. The riverfront apartments are the opposite: modern entry doors, letterbox banks and a higher share of investors and tenants, so a unit rekey after you move in is worth doing.
Ascot Racecourse sits inside the suburb boundary, and Perth Airport and Great Eastern Highway are right next door. If you lose a car key, we come to the car rather than the car coming to us, for the makes we cover.
