Bought one at a shop and found it is not a Sunday job? That is most of the calls we get.
We install digital, electronic and keypad locks across Perth, Western Australia — including ones you bought yourself at Bunnings, JB Hi-Fi or online. Send a photo of the lock and of your door edge first and we will tell you whether it fits before we come out. If it will not fit, we will say so rather than take your door apart to find out.

Who actually installs these
“Can you fit a lock I already bought?”
Yes, and it is a very common call. A digital lock looks like a DIY job on the box, and on a brand new door with the right holes already in it, sometimes it is. The trouble starts when the existing holes do not line up, the door is a different thickness from what the lock expects, or the latch backset is wrong. At that point you are drilling a door you cannot un-drill.
We would much rather you sent us a photo before you bought anything. But if the box is already open, bring it out and we will fit it properly.
What we check before we start
- Door thickness. Most locks quote a range. Doors outside it need a different model.
- The existing holes. If the new lock lines up, the job is quick and neat. If not, we drill and tidy up so it sits properly.
- Backset — the distance from the edge of the door to the centre of the hole. Get this wrong and the handle fouls the frame.
- The frame and the strike. A good lock in a frame that has dropped will still stick.
- The screen door in front, if there is one, and how you plan to get through both.
Locks we will not fit
We fit McGrath, Lion Head, Lockton, Carbine, Lockwood and Yale, because we can get parts and support for them. If you have bought something we cannot service, we will tell you honestly — we would rather say no than fit a lock nobody can help you with in two years. We also do not fit camera locks, video doorbells, alarms or anything networked.
Setting it up properly
Fitting is half of it. Before we leave we set the master code, add a code for each person in the house, show you how to add and delete one, check the backup way in works, and make sure the door closes and locks without being pulled or lifted.
How long it takes
On a door where the holes line up, under an hour. On a door that needs drilling, or a narrow screen or sliding door, longer. We will tell you which yours is from the photos.

Can you fit a digital lock I bought myself?
Yes, that is a big part of what we do. Send a photo of the lock and of your door edge first and we will confirm it fits before we come out.
What if the lock I bought will not fit my door?
We will tell you before we start, not after. If it cannot go on we will explain why and what would work instead — and you still have an unopened lock to return.
Do you install locks bought at Bunnings or JB Hi-Fi?
Yes, if it is a brand we can service. We fit McGrath, Lion Head, Lockton, Carbine, Lockwood and Yale. If you have bought something else we will be honest about it.
Can I install a digital lock myself?
On a new door with the right holes, sometimes. The risk is drilling a door incorrectly, and a door is not something you can undo. If you are unsure, send us a photo.
How long does installation take?
Usually under an hour where the existing holes line up. A door that needs drilling, or a narrow screen or sliding door, takes longer.
Do you set up the codes as well?
Yes. We set the master code, add a code per person, show you how to add and remove them, and check the backup way in before we leave.
Do you fit locks with cameras?
No. None of the six brands we fit is a camera lock, and we do not do cameras, video doorbells or anything networked.
