Lion Head is an Australian range that runs on the free TTLock app. It covers entry doors, slim aluminium frames, sliding doors and accessible doorways, and it is the range we go to when a door is an awkward shape. Two models have WiFi built in; the rest reach the app through a small gateway we set up for you.

Where Lion Head earns its place
Most smart locks assume a thick timber door. A lot of Perth does not have one. Units, rear doors, patio sliders and DDA-compliant entrances all have frames too thin or handles too specific for the usual lock, and that is where this range keeps coming out of the van.
The Erskine and Aspen are built for narrow frames, the Aspen with a vertical pull handle that suits a sliding door, and the Bondi is made for accessible doorways where the handle has to be usable with one hand. None of that is a compromise version of a front-door lock; they are designed for the job.
The app side is simple. TTLock is free, there is no subscription, and codes can be one-off, time-limited or permanent, which covers everything from a tradesman on Tuesday to a long-term tenant.

Do you need the gateway hub
This is the question we get asked most about Lion Head, so here is the plain answer. The lock works perfectly well without a hub. Fingerprint, PIN, card and fob all work whether there is WiFi in the house or not.
The gateway is a small box that plugs into a power point near the door. It connects the lock to your home WiFi so you can unlock the door, add a code or check the entry log from anywhere. If that is not something you will use, skip it.
The Regent and the Enmore already have WiFi built in, so they need no gateway at all. For the Erskine, Aspen and Bondi, the gateway is an optional extra and we can add it later if you change your mind.
One thing worth knowing: home WiFi is 2.4 GHz for this kind of device. If your router only broadcasts 5 GHz on a single name, we sort that out when we set the lock up.
No surprises on the day
- Price agreed first. You know what the lock and the fitting cost before we start.
- The right lock for the door. We check thickness, backset and how exposed the door is before we order anything.
- Set up with you. Codes, fingerprints and the app are done before we leave, and you always keep a backup way in.
Help with your Lion Head lock
How do I change the code on a Lion Head lock?
Lion Head locks are programmed from the keypad using the master code. Adding a user code and deleting one are separate menu options, so deleting a cleaner’s code does not disturb anyone else’s. If you have lost the master code or the lock was installed by someone else and never handed over properly, we can come and reset it.
The batteries are flat. How do I get in?
You still get in. Every Lion Head lock we fit keeps a second way in — on most models that is a key, and on some you can hold a nine volt battery against the contacts on the front to wake the lock up long enough to enter your code. Then change the batteries: AA alkaline cells. The lock beeps and flashes for weeks before they run out.
Where do I find the manual?
The manufacturer publishes them on lionheadlocks.com.au. If the model number has worn off the lock, send us a photo of it and we will tell you which model you have.
The keypad has stopped responding. What now?
Nine times out of ten it is the batteries, even when the lock has not warned you — cold mornings and cheap cells both shorten their life. Replace them with fresh alkaline cells first. If it still will not respond, use the backup key to get in and call us; we service these rather than automatically replacing them.
Can I get into the app from away from the house?
Lion Head’s WiFi models need a gateway hub plugged in near the door for app access from away from the house. Without the hub the lock still works perfectly on codes.
Can you fix a Lion Head lock you did not install?
Yes. We work on Lion Head locks whoever fitted them, including ones bought at a shop and installed by the homeowner. Send us a photo of the lock and tell us what it is doing.

What app do Lion Head locks use?
TTLock. It is free, there is no subscription, and it handles codes, fingerprints, the entry log and sharing access with other people.
Which Lion Head locks have WiFi built in?
The Regent and the Enmore. The Erskine, Aspen and Bondi reach the app through an optional WiFi gateway, which we can add at any time.
Can a Lion Head go on a sliding door?
Yes. The Aspen is the one for that, with a vertical pull handle and a weather rating that suits an exposed door.
Is there a Lion Head that suits a fire door?
The Enmore is fire rated. If your door has a fire tag on the edge, tell us before we quote, because a non-rated lock voids the rating.
Can I still use a key?
On most models, yes. The Bondi takes a key with an optional cylinder. We always leave a house with a second way in.
