It runs through the Yale Home app with cards, tags or an optional keypad, and with the Yale Connect Plus hub the locks also work with Google, Alexa and Apple Home. The one that also does the screen door
Almost every Perth house has a security screen in front of the front door, and on most digital lock jobs that screen is the awkward part. You end up with a smart front door and a screen you still have to unlock with a key, which defeats the point.
Yale is the only brand in our range with a smart lock built for the security screen itself. Fit the Unity screen door lock and the Unity entrance lock together and the whole doorway opens the same way, from the app or a tag, with nothing left in your pocket.
The Unity range also unlocks as you walk up to it, and with the Connect Plus hub it joins whatever smart home you already run, whether that is Google, Alexa or Apple Home.

What the Connect Plus hub adds
A Unity lock works on its own. You can open it with a card, a tag, the optional keypad or your phone when you are standing at the door, and that is enough for a lot of households.
The Connect Plus hub is what turns it into a lock you can use from anywhere. It plugs into a power point inside and connects the lock to your home WiFi, so you can let someone in while you are at work, check whether the door is locked, and add or cancel access without being there.
It is also what connects the lock to Google, Alexa and Apple Home. Without the hub, none of that is available; with it, the door becomes part of whatever system you already use.
Our advice: if you are fitting Unity to the front door and the screen, get the hub at the same time. Fitting it later is easy, but most people who skip it end up wanting it.

- The right lock for the door. We check thickness, backset and how exposed the door is before we order anything.
- Set up with you. Codes, fingerprints and the app are done before we leave, and you always keep a backup way in.

How do I change the code on a Yale lock?
Yale Unity locks are programmed either from the keypad or in the Yale Home app, and the app is the easier way to add a code for a guest and take it away afterwards. If you have lost the master code or the lock was installed by someone else and never handed over properly, we can come and reset it.
The batteries are flat. How do I get in?
You still get in. Every Yale lock we fit keeps a second way in — on most models that is a key, and on some you can hold a nine volt battery against the contacts on the front to wake the lock up long enough to enter your code. Then change the batteries: AA alkaline cells. Yale is also the one brand of the six with a digital lock made to match a security screen door.
Where do I find the manual?
The manufacturer publishes them on yalehome.com.au. If the model number has worn off the lock, send us a photo of it and we will tell you which model you have.
The keypad has stopped responding. What now?
Nine times out of ten it is the batteries, even when the lock has not warned you — cold mornings and cheap cells both shorten their life. Replace them with fresh alkaline cells first. If it still will not respond, use the backup key to get in and call us; we service these rather than automatically replacing them.
Can I get into the app from away from the house?
Remote access from away from the house needs the Yale Connect Plus hub. Some models also work with Google, Alexa and Apple Home through the hub.
Can you fix a Yale lock you did not install?
Yes. We work on Yale locks whoever fitted them, including ones bought at a shop and installed by the homeowner. Send us a photo of the lock and tell us what it is doing.

Can Yale make my security screen door keyless too?
Yes. The Unity Security Screen Door Lock is made for the screen, and it pairs with the Unity entrance lock so the whole doorway opens the same way. Yale is the only brand we fit that does this.
Does Yale work with Google, Alexa or Apple Home?
Yes, through the Yale Connect Plus hub. Without the hub the lock still works normally, but it will not appear in your smart home app.
Is there a Yale for a fire door?
Yes, there is a fire-rated version of the Unity Entrance Lock. Tell us if your door has a fire tag on the edge, because fitting a non-rated lock voids the rating.
Will a Unity lock fit an aluminium door?
The Unity Slim is the narrow version, made for aluminium-framed doors. Send a photo of the door edge and we will confirm before ordering.
Are Yale and Lockwood the same company?
Both are part of ASSA ABLOY and they share the Yale Home app, which is why a Lockwood 001Touch Plus is managed in the Yale app.
