Spare key

Need a spare Hyundai key?

A spare is the cheapest insurance you can buy for your Hyundai. Making one while a key still works is quicker, and costs less, than starting from nothing after the last one goes missing.

We come to the car, cut the blade if it has one, code the chip or smart key to your Hyundai, and test it on the doors and ignition before we leave. For most Hyundai models it takes roughly 30 minutes after we reach the car. More on spare keys.

All keys lost

Lost every Hyundai key?

You don’t need the original, and you don’t need a tow truck. We make a new Hyundai key at the car, using the car itself.

Have these ready:

  • Photo ID
  • Proof you own the car, such as the rego papers
  • The VIN if you can find it (it’s on the rego papers, and usually at the base of the windscreen)

Once the new key works, we remove the lost ones from the car’s system so they can’t start the engine. They may still open the doors, so rekey or replace anything they were on. More on car key replacement.

Locked out

Locked out of your Hyundai?

Keys locked inside, or in the boot? We open Hyundais without damage to the paint, the seals or the lock. Car openings never cause damage.

If a smart key is sitting inside a locked car, don’t keep pressing buttons on the spare. Call us, tell us where the car is, and we’ll say straight away when we can get there. More on lockouts.

Work vehicles

Utes, vans and fleets

The iLoad van is a workhorse for trades and couriers. A spare key keeps it on the road.

Good to know

Hyundai keys, explained

Hyundai used flip keys for years, and the flip mechanism can wear or break. Newer i30, Tucson, Kona and Santa Fe grades use a smart key with push-button start.
