Quick answer

After a break-in, call WA Police first: 000 if someone may still be there, or 131 444 to report it once they’ve gone. Then call us. We secure and repair doors and locks across Perth, Western Australia, rekey if keys were taken, and give you an itemised invoice with each part and the labour listed separately. We agree the price before we start.

What we do

From forced door to finished claim

Lockable before we leave

A door that won’t lock gets made secure before we go.

Repair or replace

Damaged locks, strike plates and deadbolts fixed, or swapped for new.

Keys taken?

We rekey the locks you keep so the missing keys no longer work.

Itemised invoice

Parts and labour on separate lines, ready to send to your insurer.

The paperwork

Making the insurance claim easier

Police first, then us

The WA Government’s police page says to call 000 if a serious crime is in progress, and 131 444 to report a crime that has already happened (WA Government). Write down the reference number you’re given and keep it with your claim papers.

What our invoice shows

Every part we fit gets its own line, the labour is listed separately, and GST is shown, so your insurer can see exactly what was replaced and what it cost. It also shows the job address, the brand and model of each lock, and a short note of the damage, and we email it to you the same day.

Photos before repairs

Moneysmart suggests keeping photos and receipts as a record for a future claim (Moneysmart). Take pictures of the door, the frame and the lock before we start. Our guide to a damaged lock after a break-in covers what to photograph and what usually gets damaged.

If keys were taken

If a bag or a set of keys went missing, the locks you keep should be rekeyed so those keys stop working. It costs less than new locks. See lock rekeying.

Paying and claiming

You pay us on the day and claim the cost back from your insurer. We don’t bill insurers directly.

Common questions

Straight answers

Yes. Each part and the labour are listed on separate lines, with GST shown, so your insurer can see exactly what was done.

The police. Call 000 if someone may still be inside, or 131 444 once they’ve gone. Then ring us on 08 9444 2089 to make the place secure.

Yes, we run a 24 hour emergency service. Ring and we’ll tell you straight when we can get there. After-hours work costs more, and we agree the price before we start.

If the lock still works and only the keys are a worry, a rekey is enough. If the lock or strike was damaged, we repair or replace that part and key it to the rest of the house where we can.
