European car lockouts in Perth

A lot of European cars deadlock: when they lock, the inside handles stop working too, so there’s no reaching through a gap to pull a handle. Keyless entry can also lock a car with the key still inside, especially if the key’s battery is low.

We open them with the right tools for each make, without damage to the paint, seals or lock. If the keys are in the boot, we can usually get to those too.

Before you call: check whether a spare key is nearby, and whether the maker’s app (for example Mercedes me) can unlock the car remotely.

Volkswagen

Common models: Golf, Polo, Tiguan, Amarok, Transporter, Passat.

BMW

Common models: 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series, X1, X3, X5.

Many BMWs have keyless entry, so a key left inside can still end up locked in. We open them without damage. New BMW keys are a job for the dealer.

Mercedes-Benz

Common models: A-Class, C-Class, E-Class, GLC, Sprinter, Vito.

If your Mercedes is linked to the Mercedes me app, check whether remote unlock is set up before you call. If not, we open it without damage. New keys come from the dealer.

Audi

Common models: A3, A4, Q3, Q5, Q7.

We open Audis without damage. For a replacement key, it’s the dealer.

Land Rover and Range Rover

Common models: Discovery, Defender, Range Rover, Evoque.

We open Land Rovers and Range Rovers without damage, including when the keys are locked in the boot.

Porsche
